In 1986, Kath and Steve Baird moved to Tawonga with their two young sons, Clay and Lin. They came bearing a truckload of horses and with a plan to launch a family company that would uphold the High Country horse’s traditions and provide exceptional tourist experiences. This family-run firm is still guided by that goal. Bogong Horseback Adventures, the Baird family refuge, and the visitor’s rural home away from home are all located at Spring Spur.
Our family has long-standing historical ties to the Victorian High Country that stretch back to the 1860s gold rushes.
